FUMC FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MANY
EVENTS
We at First UMC believe in our
United Methodist Motto of Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors
as we Open Our Doors to many outside groups as you can read
elsewhere on our site. However, we are proud to offer our beautiful
sanctuary to many Brides-to-Be for their weddings. Our sanctuary boasts
of an exquisite pipe organ that contains 1,954 pipes. Our pipe organ
was completely refurbished and the sound is outstanding. Our organist,
Debbie Airgood, has been playing this very organ since she was a
teenager. Of course, she is still very young at heart and the music she
brings forth from this instrument is outstanding. A certain plus to any
wedding. The center aisle is 44 feet long giving the bride an elegant
walk down the aisle. Whether a member or non-member, our doors are open
for weddings. Our sanctuary seats 500 people and boasts of a fine sound
system.
We are also proud to make
available our Chapel for smaller weddings and events. The Chapel seats
comfortably 150 people and is a cozy spot for the smaller wedding and
family baptisms.
Also within our church we have
two halls that we rent out for rehearsal dinners, bridal and baby
showers, anniversary celebrations and family gatherings after special
occasions such as baptisms. Bartlett Hall is the larger of the two
halls and boasts of a large, complete kitchen. Bartlett Hall can
comfortably seat 150 to 180 people. We have had rehearsal dinners,
showers and even wedding receptions in this hall. For a smaller affair
we have our Fellowship Hall which will comfortably seat 50 to 60
people. This hall has a kitchenette (small stove and refrigerator plus
sink) and is ideal for the smaller gathering.
